Transportation Tax

 Gasoline prices are down. The lowest we have see in a while. President Obama
s transportation secretary proposed a transportation tax to make up the difference that the government is now losing out on. President Obama stated that there would never be such a tax during his administration.

The transportation tax would have taxed drivers on the amount of miles they traveled. This was suggested because the federal share of the gasoline money just is not there. This money is used to do repair and new construction on the nation's transportation system.

Some states are talking about this type of tax as a long term solution. And just how would they tax such a thing as miles...you have probably guessed it by now.GPS chips inside the vehicles.

I'm noy sure that this tax is the solution. With the population getting larger and the need for more transportation ways increasing the gap of money needed and what is being spent will continue to increase. With this being said, I certainly do not have an answer.
